BOOKING RULES

Let's face it - clubs operate better when everyone is on the same page and there are no ambiguities. So here are our rules, terms and conditions.

  • Bunkrooms are allocated by the Bookings Officer.  To avoid any midnight confusion please stick to the bunkroom that you have booked.

  • Bookings will only be accepted from Members who have paid their annual subscription fee.

  • No member may stay at the lodge without a confirmed booking.  Booking confirmation constitutes authority to stay at the lodge.

  • There will be a Trip leader appointed for every stay - Their role is to ensure that duties such as restocking and cleaning are completed, and have responsibility for everyone at the lodge.  Please apply some common sense and work with your Trip Leader.

  • If you don't know what is expected of you, please ask.

  • For safety reasons, at least 2 Adults (one of whom must be a Senior Member) must be present at the lodge overnight throughout the period of your booking.

  • Provisional members must have at least 1 Senior Member present throughout their booking.

Weekend bookings:

  •  There are no weekend booking restrictions.

Guest bookings:

  • Members have priority when booking over unconfirmed bookings for guests (non-members) up until 2 weeks before arrival

  • To allow a degree of forward planning Guests will be confirmed 2 weeks prior to the booking if there are bunks available.

Age limit:

  • The minimum age for children staying at the lodge is 3 years old.

  • Younger aged children may be considered in the case of whole lodge bookings or in consultation of others staying at the lodge.

  • Exemptions to the age limit will be considered on a case by case basis.

DOC Road Closures

  • DOC close the Bruce Road barrier arm at 6PM in the event of an adverse weather forecast.  Please make your travel plans accordingly.

Transfers and Cancellations:

Bookings may be transferred within the current season only and subject to the following restrictions:

  • We operate a no-refund policy for weather.  This also includes road closures subject to DOC policy as above.

  • Unused bookings will not be carried over to the next season.

Sickness Policy

Tahurangi Ski Club strongly supports vaccination against all infectious diseases including COVID, influenza and measles.  Members should be vaccinated where possible and are expected to stay away from the lodge or return home if they exhibit multiple symptoms of illness, including gastro-intestinal issues, fever, headaches, scratchy or sore-throats and coughing.

If your booking is cancelled for health reasons the unused portion of your booking will be credited towards this season or if there are no more weekends left to use the credit during the season then the credit can be carried against the next season’s subs.

  • We ask that you do not come to the lodge when sick.

  • You may be turned away or asked to return home asap if you are ill.

  • You may modify your booking UP TO 24 HRS BEFORE ARRIVAL at no penalty if you have respiratory illness symptoms.
